Our Previous Rides

2009, The inaugural Bikers for Beth ride

Our first ride was held to help the family of Beth Hemenway, her husband, Bob and daughters, Aubree and Becky. We had 60 bikes participating and raised $3000 for Beth's family. One of our stops on the ride was at Harvey's lake, one of Beth's favorite vacation spots.

2010, The ride for Dan Emery

Our second ride was for Dan Emery, who was at the time residing in Florida, but grew up in Washington,VT. Dan bravely battled leukemia, but unfortuately passed away later that summer. We had 100 bikes participating and raised $4000 that helped keep Dan's house out of foreclosure. Our ride passed through Washington in honor of Dan.

2011, The ride for Erica Lumbra

Our third ride was for 20 year old Erica Lumbra, who had been battling leukemia since 2009. Chemotherapy and radiation treatments left Erica with permanent damage to her heart and hip and knee joints. 85 bikes participated to raise over $5000 dollars to help Erica and her family put an addition on their house to provide Erica with a tub to relax in.

2012, The ride for Randy Tucker

Our fourth ride was a record breaker! We were excited to be honoring long time Bikers for Beth friend, and Barre City Police officer Randy Tucker. Randy is one of the nicest, most genuine guys you will ever meet, so we were expecting a big turn out. What really happened that day was mind blowing! We had over 160 bikes participating and fed close to 300 riders and non-riders at the BBQ. The end result was more than $11,000 dollars donated by the most amazingly generous people!!!! Our scenic ride, a favorite of Randy's, led us through Hardwick, Greensboro and Cabot. The views were spectacular!

2013, The ride for Dennis and Tammy

Our fifth ride was our first big milestone and it did not disappoint. We rode for two amazing people, Dennis Shangraw of Williamstown and Tammy Piper of Northfield. Two of Dennis' sons rode their motorcycles while Dennis and another son rode in style in a Mustang convertible. Tammy's son, Michael got to have his very first motorcycle ride and loved every minute of it. We broke our record with over 240 bikes! We raised $10,000 and managed to avoid the rain during the ride. Mother Nature wasn't so generous during the BBQ afterward.

2014, The ride for Aaron Sayers

Our sixth was another great year. We rode for Aaron Sayers. Aaron lost his battle before the 2014 ride so a lot of the funds raised were put toward a trip for his family to go to Disney on a vacation. Aarons boys are great kids who lost a great man. It was an emotional year for all but the support of the commnuity made it much easier to cope with.

2015, The ride for Ken Underhill and Steve England

Our seventh was an emotional but great year. We rode for two amazing people, Ken Underhill of Hartland, VT and Steve England of Barre. Both Ken and Steve were extremely involved in the ride. Ken has helped run Bikers For Beth for years and Steve stepped up with his involvment in the community and the American Legion to make the turnout great!
